Creek Freaks of Franklin County
A Brief History (~By Al Flora~)
Over the last couple of years from time to time there has been talk of such a group. Throughout the County, there are small groups of paddlers that get out and enjoy the rivers etc. Bringing them together would create a larger group to support economic efforts related to paddling in the County and create new friendships as well. So, one day I (Al) was riding down the road and for some reason I thought...all you have to do is make three phone calls and come up with a time and place to meet. So, I (Al) called Morris, who called Scott, who called Marcia, who then told Gene. We then went and had lunch at Hemas. I brought up the fact that Wayne Wingfield called Morris a Creek Freak thirty years ago, and the next thing you know we announced a meeting and our goals which are:
Promote Family Fun on the River
Educate Youth
Clean up the Rivers
Have Fun and Fellowship
